This introductory course explores the fundamentals of observational drawing through a variety of subjects and materials. Students develop essential skills in line, proportion, perspective, composition, and value while learning to understand form, light, and shadow. Working from direct observation and photographic references, students practice drawing still life, landscapes, animals, and portraiture using materials such as graphite and charcoal. Through guided exercises and demonstrations, students build a strong technical foundation and gain confidence in their drawing practice.
