Nasiri Guzman is a Boston-based artist originally from the Dominican Republic. He holds a BFA in Painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MFA in Painting from Boston University. His practice explores portraiture, still life, and landscape, with a sustained focus on the human figure. Working across oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, ink, and graphite, Guzman combines observational precision with an expressive approach to composition, material, and form.

Influenced by Renaissance traditions, his use of muted color and nuanced chiaroscuro reflects memories of childhood blackouts in the Dominican Republic, when limited light heightened his awareness of subtle tonal shifts and the relationship between light and darkness. Through these elements, his paintings establish a visual language that directs the viewer's attention and creates emotional depth. Alongside his studio practice, Guzman is dedicated to arts education, sharing technical knowledge and mentoring emerging artists in the development of their individual practices.
